Fighting for Film
Number of Students: 10-12 (even numbers highly preferred)
Length/Type: Weekend Workshop (10 hours over 2 days)
Lesson Plan: Students will be introduced to basic principles of fighting for a camera, and given the building blocks for performing a credible, believable fight on screen. Standard film combat techniques, sight lines, selling a hit (as both the attacker and the victim), avoiding stacking, grounding a body, and dynamic play of action will be just a few of the concepts covered. Stage combat experience is an asset, but by no means a requirement! Dependent on student skill levels and learning speed of the overall class, students will also learn and perform a short fight for the camera, on which they will receive instructor feedback.
